ITS NFL SCHEDULE RELEASE DAY.... who gives a shit?

Yes, the fake holiday created to appease us is here! Just like Black Friday is to Thanksgiving, Schedule Release Day is to the Draft. Yes, I know all those words don't need capital letters but that's to make a point! Thanksgiving and Draft Day are holidays, black friday and schedule release day are not. But enough with the non-holiday of black friday, let's talk about why schedule release day is dumb with a minor exception.

The teams have known for months who they are playing and where they were playing. This day means very little to a coach and a team in May. They have no idea who is going to be on this team yet but their projecting out that there's a potential cold weather game in late November? GTFOH!! The coaches do not care because its mostly irrelevant at this point. The players care a little bit because now they can start planning out their year and their time between cities, family, and whatever else they have to do. You know who really cares about this day though? The NFL and their media outlets, including people just like me, the Content Creator.

This is just another way the NFL stays in the news cycle. It's brilliant but God has it run its course. They have to do a better job with the release if it's going to mean anything. Half the games get leaked, potentially on purpose. And it's the good games that get leaked! Why don't we do a show where we actually present these big-time games as a reveal and make it entertaining!? The NFL knows entertaining, let's try some more of that, instead of over adjusting rules in the game.

The ONE redeeming quality about today is that we get to see some bad ass work from some bad ass people in the social media departments and their content creators that work for these NFL teams. I say content creators because there were so many different things used to do the schedule releases. The acting in the Jags video, like a young DeNiro. The cartoon/animation done by the Chargers. That shit was awesome!

Outside that, schedule release day is lame! But maybe it could be cool. I don't know how but maybe.

Maybe if Adam Rank keeps doing this with the schedules I get more of a kick out of it.
